Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee I am pleased to invite you to the 4th International Colloquium on “Transformer Research and Asset Management” to be held in Pula, Croatia, from May 10 to 12, 2017. The Colloquium has been supported by CIGRÉ National Committee of Croatia with CIGRÉ Study Committee A2 – Transformers, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb and the Centre of Excellence for Transformers in Zagreb.
I am delighted that this international conference and exhibition is recognized as an event of great interest for researchers and scientists from all over the world. Previously, 150 participants, on average, from more than 20 countries were presented and “Transformer Research and Asset Management” colloquium has become a forum through which progress in research and technology development is reported globally.Today, safe and available energy is a critical global issue, and transformers, playing a significant role in its transmission, have to be reliable components. The topics were chosen to give some answers to the actual position of the transformer industry including R&D trends and Transformer Maintenance Life Cycle.
The papers will be covering the following main topics:
1. Numerical Modelling
2. Materials, Components and New Technologies
3. Transformer Life Management
Giving opportunity to authors and world’s experts to discuss advances in calculation of electromagnetic field and transients, numerical modelling in design, properties and behaviours of insulating and magnetic materials, as well as other transformer components. In service experience, failures, diagnostics, monitoring and asset management are definitely of the great importance for both manufactures and users.
Traditionally, papers and tutorials presentations will deepen the knowledge for all of us and contribute to the better understanding of different transformer phenomena. So far, the presentations of accepted paper and panel discussion had been an excellent opportunity for all participants to join us in scientific and competent technical discussions and to identify best practices in a friendly academic atmosphere. Being connected with the University of Zagreb, the Colloquium has also been a unique opportunity for pre- and post-graduate students to improve their knowledge and establish links with industrial, academic and research associates.
I would especially like to invite our potential sponsors as well as exhibitors to join us and introduce their products and transformer solutions to all participants of the Colloquium. Finally, I thank all the Technical Committee members who accepted to be a part of this valuable event.I am looking forward to seeing you in Pula, Croatia from May 10 to 12, 2017.
Yours faithfully,
